Welcome to Day 6!
You don’t need millions of page views every month to make money from blogging, but increasing your traffic will usually improve your earnings.
Every blog is unique, and success depends on understanding your audience, building effective partnerships with brands, and charging appropriate rates. Even with modest traffic, many bloggers can generate a solid income if they focus on the right strategies.
Below are practical tactics to help increase page views and grow your blog’s reach.
- Publish high-quality blog posts – Consistently publish helpful, well-written content. High-quality posts bring readers back and encourage sharing. Aim for at least 500 words per post, and consider longer, in-depth posts when appropriate. Many successful posts range from 1,500 to 3,000 words and provide real value.
- Be active on Pinterest – Pinterest is a powerful traffic source for many bloggers. Create attractive pin images, write compelling titles and descriptions, pin regularly, and prioritize vertically formatted images. Use an image editor to make engaging visuals and a scheduling tool to maintain consistent pinning.
- Find other social networks to use – Besides Pinterest, experiment with Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and other platforms that match your niche. Each network reaches different audiences, so choose those where your target readers spend time.
- Post regularly – Maintain a consistent publishing schedule. For most blogs, posting at least once a week helps retain audience interest. Long gaps between posts can cause readers to forget your site.
- Network with other bloggers – Approach fellow bloggers as collaborators, not competitors. Engage with them on social media, build genuine relationships, exchange ideas via email, and attend events when possible. Offer help and value first, and collaborations will follow naturally.
- Guest post – Writing guest posts on other blogs introduces you to new audiences and can drive visitors back to your site. Choose reputable sites in your niche and craft valuable, relevant content for their readers.
- Make it easy to share your content – Ensure readers can quickly share posts on social media. Display clear social icons, provide properly formatted share text (title, link, and your handle), and avoid titles that appear to be shouting (all caps). Frictionless sharing encourages more social traffic.
- Create catchy headlines – A compelling headline is a major factor in whether people click. Test variations, focus on clarity and curiosity, and promise useful value without being misleading.
- Learn SEO – Search engine optimization helps your content rank and attract organic traffic. SEO is a broad topic; invest time in learning keyword research, on-page optimization, site structure, and technical SEO to improve long-term visibility.
- Make it easy for readers to browse – Improve internal navigation so readers can discover more content. Include links to related posts, highlight categories and tags, provide a search bar, and make your homepage simple to find. Every post should link to additional relevant content to encourage multiple page views per visit.
