Today I’m sharing my Dealspotr review. This article is sponsored by Dealspotr, but the opinions are entirely my own.

Dealspotr.com is a crowdsourced deals platform that has helped shoppers save more than $20 million since its launch about a year and a half ago.

Yes — over $20 million saved. That’s a lot of savings for online shoppers.

According to research from Zipfworks, the average discount-code shopper spends 19 minutes visiting three or four coupon sites and often misses out on roughly $14 in potential savings from successful coupon redemptions. Dealspotr promises to cut that time and increase your chances of finding a valid code — effectively saving you about 17 minutes and the typical $14 each time you shop online.

Dealspotr is a real-time deal-sharing community where members post coupons, promo codes, and deals and earn rewards for contributing. Because of this active community, the site’s database has grown to include over 5,000,000 deals.

Yes, five million.

That breadth makes it likely you’ll find a deal for many purchases on the site. I spent a good deal of time testing Dealspotr and was surprised I hadn’t discovered it earlier — it would have helped me save much more when shopping online in the past.

How does Dealspotr compare to other deal websites?

If you hate wasting time like I do, you’ve probably been frustrated by coupon sites that list expired or inaccurate codes. On many coupon websites, codes are reported as working even when they aren’t, which makes hunting for valid discounts feel like a waste of time.

Dealspotr is different. In my experience, it has more codes and noticeably fewer expired listings than sites like RetailMeNot, Coupons.com, or Groupon. The active community validates and invalidates deals quickly, so you can usually tell at a glance whether a code is likely to work.

The chart above shows Dealspotr leading other similar coupon sites in both total coupon codes and valid coupon codes.

While using the site I tested a number of listings. Many codes worked; the ones that didn’t were already flagged as invalid by other members, so I avoided wasting time trying them.

Dealspotr also surfaces a wider variety of offer types: single-use codes, personal referral codes, and third-party deals. These extras can deliver discounts in ways you won’t often find on other coupon sites.

How do I find a coupon code?

I always check for a coupon code before completing an online purchase — even a small discount is worth it. These days, searching for codes is easier than ever.

For example, my husband needed a PFD from West Marine and the total was a few hundred dollars. I wanted to save whatever I could, so I first checked a popular coupon site and found only general sales — no specific code for the PFD.

Next I checked West Marine’s Dealspotr page and found a $15-off coupon code. What I liked was that Dealspotr shows a “deal likelihood of working,” the last time a code was validated, and the expiration date.

I applied the code at checkout and — voilà — the discount applied. A few clicks and a small but meaningful saving.

How can I sign up for Dealspotr and start saving?

Getting started with Dealspotr is straightforward. The basic steps are:

  1. Create an account
  2. Complete the new-user checklist you receive after registering
  3. Customize your personal feed to show deals and brands that match your interests
  4. Be active on the platform: follow people, interact with deals, and join discussions in the forum

There are many features and ways to engage with the community on the platform.

How do I share a deal?

To share a deal, go to the “Post a Deal” section when logged in (the posting form is simple to use). The tool guides you through the details needed to help others redeem the offer. Posting deals earns you points that can be redeemed for gift cards.

If a deal already exists on the site, you can validate it instead of reposting. Validation is easy and helpful: you confirm whether a deal works and provide feedback so other shoppers know its status.

Example: validating a deal

I found a deal for socks and decided to test it. After visiting the merchant site and confirming the discount applied at checkout, I validated the deal on Dealspotr so other members would know it works.

I then uploaded a screenshot and completed the validation steps. This helps the community quickly identify reliable codes and increases the overall quality of listings.

Example: marking a deal as not working

Not every listed deal is valid. I tested a listing that claimed a Yeti bag was deeply discounted; the listing showed a low likelihood of working. After following the link and confirming the price was not as claimed, I returned to Dealspotr and invalidated the deal, adding a screenshot and notes describing what happened. This prevents others from wasting time on the same listing.

What rewards do members receive?

Active participation on Dealspotr earns points and builds reputation. Members complete daily tasks, post and validate deals, and interact with the community to earn points that can be redeemed for gift cards once they reach 10,000 points.

You don’t need to make purchases to earn points; sharing deals and helping other shoppers is enough. For bloggers and social media influencers, Dealspotr also offers an Influencer Network with opportunities for paid projects and cross-promotion.

The Dealspotr Influencer Network

Dealspotr partners with bloggers and influencers to help grow their audiences. Members in the Influencer Network receive enhanced rewards, access to an affiliate program, and greater visibility on the platform.

Dealspotr has added merchant accounts for brands such as DKNY, GearBest, and Away Travel. These merchant partnerships are a step toward an Open Brand / Influencer Marketplace, where brands will post paid campaigns that influencers can browse and join based on topic, brand, or interest.
